About Us
What is Precinct Omega?Precinct Omega goes back to the Omani desert of Autumn 2001, where a young Army officer with too much time on his hands wanted somewhere to save all of the ideas, rules and art he was scribbling. Fast forward to 2008 and the same officer, now retired, has carved out a modest reputation as an amateur wargames developer, artist and sculptor, sufficient that a number of people approached him with a view to taking on some more serious, professional work: designing, sculpting, converting and painting models. The "Precinct Omega" brand was well established across half a dozen online communities and in hobby stores and clubs, thanks to a plethora of articles, projects and events, so that retired officer - a Welsh descendant of a family of Norse berserkers (seriously!) by the name of Robey Jenkins - decided to go legit. But the Precinct Omega name was founded on more than the efforts of one man, and Robey was determined from the outset that the business would be about more than just making himself money. So as well as the Precinct Omega painting service, as the site matures you'll also find the Paint Thralls, artwork, free downloads, links to other Precinct Omega projects, fiction and blogs. If you've got an event, site, club or project you want people to know about, drop us a line. If we like it, too, we'll make sure word goes out! Last Updated (Friday, 04 September 2009 12:18) |
