Paint Thralls
Meet the Paint ThrallsPrecinct Omega Studios would be nothing without its team of professional painters. We are always on the look-out for new talent in the miniature model hobby, so if you fancy your chances, drop us a line and we'll send you the details. Our paint thralls are broken down into three categories, based on their ability: Lords, Champions and Warriors. Generally speaking, your commission will be allocated to a paint thrall from whichever level best fits the standard of painting you have ordered, but if you would like a particular paint thrall to paint your miniatures, just let us know and, if possible, we will be sure to accommodate you. LORDS Robey Jenkins Founder of Precinct Omega Studios and established hobby-veteran, Robey Jenkins is best known for his encyclopaedic knowledge of the Warhammer 40,000 background and his short story, Phobos Worked in Adament, was published in the "Planetkill" anthology from the Black Library. But he is also responsible for the Inquisitor Grand Tournament, the York Garrison Wargaming Club, Dark Magenta magazine and a ream of hobby articles spanning the experience of twenty years in the hobby.
Rob Skene In his ten years of modelling and painting, Rob has assembled and painted more models than he has had hot dinners. When he's not dabbling with green stuff on one of his many scratch-sculpt projects, he's assembling a madcap Ork Kontraption from his bits box or painting more Elysians for his Drop Troop army. Rob enjoys painting interesting models and uses commission work as an excuse to paint models he wouldn't otherwise be able to get his hands on!When he's not at his desk at home, you can find him at his desk at uni working on a BA Computer Animation degree, using the skills he taught himself from a young age, and was a lead designer and animator for the Tyranid Mod, a modification of the PC game Dawn of War. Rob's painting style is bold and unique, producing a pleasing finish using simple techniques that make models look equally good on the tabletop or the mantlepiece. ![]()
CHAMPIONS Jon Kerr John started the hobby in 1998. He currently collects Warriors of Chaos, and a converted Adeptus Mechanicus army (using Imperial Guard rules), but over the years has collected almost every army at some point or other. He cheerfully admits to being terrible at gaming, and much more enjoys the painting and modeling aspect of the hobby. The most enjoyable part of the hobby for John is sculpting and he loves to create truly unique models. Originality and character are the hallmarks of his work. In real life, he is an Aeronautical Engineer and feels that this further helps him to add character to models with a technological aspect, and certainly gives him a lot of the ideas for conversions! His experience allows him to adapt to many styles of painting, such as “stripy highlighting” to produce a weathered or extremely ripped and corded look on muscled skin, and he has recently been cutting his teeth on non-metallic metals.
